Looking for a DHRU Fusion Alternative? What to Check Before You Switch
Most GSM shop owners do not go looking for a DHRU Fusion alternative on a quiet day. They start looking when something pinches: a monthly order limit they keep bumping into, a server they have to keep patching themselves, an update that sits behind a support renewal, or a store that simply looks older than their competitors'.
Whatever sent you here, the decision is bigger than picking a new logo on the login page. Your customers' balances, your suppliers and your resellers' software all depend on the panel you run. This guide covers the kinds of alternative that exist, the eight questions worth asking any of them, and a way to switch without your customers noticing anything except a better store.
Why shops look beyond DHRU Fusion
- Limits on the part that grows. DHRU Fusion Cloud caps automated API orders at 10,000 a month on its Basic plan and 30,000 on Professional (dhru.com pricing, September 2026). A good month can mean a plan change.
- Running a server yourself. Self-hosted Fusion means your own hosting bills, SSL, firewall, PHP upgrades and backups — DHRU's own migration page lists exactly that work.
- Updates tied to renewals. DHRU's terms say self-hosted licences need an active annual support and maintenance plan to receive updates and security patches.
- A licence welded to one server. Self-hosted licences are bound to one domain and one server, and server moves are billed separately.
- Seats. Team accounts are limited by plan, so every new helper is a pricing question.
None of that makes DHRU a bad product — it is the reason most of this industry speaks its API. It just means there are good reasons to compare.
The three kinds of alternative
1. Stay with DHRU, move to Fusion Cloud
If your pain is only the self-hosted server, DHRU's own cloud removes it: they run hosting, backups and upgrades. You keep the same vendor, and the same plan limits on automated orders and team seats apply.
2. A self-hosted panel with a one-time licence
Several independent scripts sell a one-time licence you install on your own server, usually with a year of updates included. You own the install and pay once — and you also inherit everything that comes with a server: hosting, SSL, security, backups, and applying updates yourself. It suits owners who are comfortable administering Linux, or who already employ someone who is.
3. A managed platform built for GSM stores
You get your own store on your own domain, and the provider runs the server, security, backups and updates as part of a monthly price. This is where GSMSS sits. It suits owners who would rather spend their time on suppliers, prices and customers than on a server.
Eight questions to ask any alternative
Whichever route you lean towards, put these to every option. They are the ones that decide whether a switch is painless or painful.
- Does it connect to my suppliers over the DHRU Fusion API? If it cannot, every supplier needs a custom integration, and you lose the one-click service import you are used to.
- Does its own reseller API speak Fusion? Your resellers already have software pointed at a Fusion panel. If the new store answers the same actions on
/api/index.php, they change one address; if not, they rebuild — or leave. - Is there a cap on automated orders or team seats? Ask about the plan you will be on in a year, not just today.
- Who runs hosting, SSL and backups — and are backups kept off the server? A backup on the same machine does not survive the machine.
- Are updates included, and how are they applied? Look for one-click updates that take a backup first and can roll back.
- Will wallet balances move across to the cent? Balances are the part of a migration your customers judge you on. Old order history and reseller API keys matter too.
- How is a store full of customer money protected? Two-factor sign-in, passkeys, captcha on login and registration, rate limits, and a check that catches balances changing without a matching transaction.
- Is the trial long enough to test with real suppliers? A week is not enough to connect suppliers, set prices and watch real orders complete.
How GSMSS answers them
| Question | GSMSS |
|---|---|
| Suppliers over Fusion | Yes — add a "DHRU Fusion" connection with your existing credentials and import the service list in one click; prices re-sync every three hours |
| Fusion reseller API | Yes — same actions on /api/index.php, plus a modern REST API and a public documentation page |
| Order and seat caps | None — no monthly cap on automated orders, unlimited staff accounts, on every plan |
| Hosting, SSL, backups | Run by us, with nightly off-server backups |
| Updates | Included; one click from the admin panel, backup first |
| Migration | Free — customers, wallet balances, order history and API keys, as far as your current panel can export them |
| Security | Two-factor, passkeys, captcha or Cloudflare Turnstile, rate limits, daily wallet integrity check, staff activity log |
| Trial | 90 days, every feature, no credit card |
| Price | From $20/month or $200/year; plans differ by server size only |
A switch plan your customers will not notice
The safest migrations run the new store next to the old one and only move traffic once everything has been proven.
- Start the trial and set your store's name, logo, colours and payment methods.
- Connect the suppliers you already use as DHRU Fusion connections and import their services. Set your markup per group or per service.
- Place real test orders on the new store — IMEI and server — and watch results come back automatically.
- Move your customers. We bring across accounts, balances and order history, and you check a handful of customers against the old panel, to the cent.
- Tell your resellers the new API address. Their request format does not change.
- Point your domain at the new store. Keep the old panel on a subdomain, read-only, for a few weeks in case anyone asks about an old order.
The rule of thumb: nobody should have to top up twice, and no reseller should have to rewrite anything.
Common questions
Is there a free DHRU Fusion alternative?
There are free trials rather than free products worth trusting with customer balances. GSMSS's trial runs for 90 days with every feature on, which is long enough to run real orders before paying anything.
Will my DHRU suppliers work?
Yes, as long as they offer the Fusion API — and nearly all of them do. You use the same URL, username and API key.
Can I keep my domain?
Yes. Your store runs on your own domain; you switch it over only when the new store is ready.
How long does a switch take?
Setting up and testing is usually a few days of your time. The customer move itself happens in one planned step, and you tell us when.
What if I am on DHRU Fusion Cloud, not self-hosted?
The same plan works. The main differences you would gain are no cap on automated orders, unlimited staff accounts, every feature on the smallest plan, and a lower starting price ($20 a month against $39 month to month).
If you want to see it before you commit, open the live demo — storefront, customer panel and admin panel, with logins already filled in — or start the free trial and connect one of your real suppliers today.
